Halloween "Senior Style"

There are no Rocking Chairs for these
seniors in Arcadia California. In fact, Halloween 2010
was just an excuse for this geriatric group to get its groove on
& make it a "night of fright." OK so maybe it was an early night.
Nevertheless, "Who says Halloween is just for kids." When I reach
my 80's & 90's, I sure hope I still have a youthful spirit like these
folks!  At Arcadia Gardens Retirement Hotel, there
were 6, count them 6, residents between the ages of 100-106 at the party.

Beautiful "Baby Bella" ~My favorite shoot this week~

Isabella Avalos is a real charmer!

Only 7 weeks old, Bella is already comfortable
in front of the camera. She poses, smiles in a mischievous way,
sings and evens knows the look from the Austin Powers movie.
Hum? How does she know that? No one has to Sella Bella, because
she does that all by herself.  Which makes me think I should wish her
parents Heidi and Chris good luck in the future.

Bella you sure were Swella!

Photo of the Week "Capturing Camouflage"

Every week I will blog about the
"Photo of the Week".

Capturing images is what photographers do.
But don't always rely on your "eyes", because you just
mighty miss what your imagination will allow you to
see.  Be open to what is there, even if you are
expecting something else.

Saluting My Favorite Subject

I suppose my favorite person to photography is a WWII Veteran named Mike DiDomenico. Though he is small in stature, his pride and presence make him stand out in a crowd.  He's 95 now, but he was 84 when I first started photographing him at ceremonies honoring our veterans.  You can tell by his face that he has lived an honorable life.  I fell blessed to know him, and even more blessed to call him my "Pappa"
